CARE Community Center located in Rogers, under the leadership of Kim Porter, already provides an array of services to those with limited means, including food bank, computer training and even tax preparation assistance. Now they are adding a Community Mediation Program with the goal of helping community members resolve differences without expensive litigation. Free for at least the first three hour session. As a volunteer, I was glad to assist CARE in processing a small grant request from the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission and to secure the agreement of area Circuit Court certified mediators to provide their services. Call CARE or refer your neighbors to them at (479) 246-0104 or see www.carecc.org regarding neighbor disputes, consumer/merchant and residential landlord/tenant claims or family disputes.
